{11:30amWelcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +193 on Billy's BMT calendar. Once again, here are what the Normal blood counts levels are:
WBC: 4.0 - 10.5
RBC: 4.20 - 5.60
Hemoglobin: 12.5 - 16.1
Platelets: 150.000 - 450.000
All is well here in Sunny St. Pete.! Although the rain shortened their trip, Billy and his buddy John P. managed to get a few cast's in on a fishing trip to Ft. Desoto Park. Billy was happy to get "out", Thank you Vicky P.
It looks as though Hurricane Ivan is going to pass well to our west sometime on Wednesday morning. We are all well aware that this forecast can change from hour to hour, so we will not let "our guard" down on this one. It is still a very powerful category 5 (160 mph winds) hurricane, and they have been known to do some "crazy" things *wink*.
Billy has a early morning clinic tomorrow for CBC's, and maybe we'll have some new's on the Cytogenetics.
Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

{1:00pmWelcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +194 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 2.10, RBC @ 3.62, Hemoglobin @ 12.1, platelets @ 134,000. ANC @ 1,000.
Today's clinic visit was uneventful. Billy's white blood count, and ANC were low (again), but Dr. Petrovic wants to hold off on another dose of Neupogen to see if Billy's system can start it's own production of white blood cells, and boost his ANC. We were informed though, that Billy's tests all show that his system is in a "very good" recovery stage, and there is no evidence of cancer cells in Billy's bone marrow. The Cytogenetics results are still not in, but all indications are that Billy's cell structure, and chromosome trans-location has reversed, and is back to "normal", as noted in the previous 3 Bone Marrow Aspiration's done on Billy. The Donor marrow remains at 100%.
Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

{5:00pmWelcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +197 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 1.70, RBC @ 3.65, Hemoglobin @ 12.2, platelets @ 154,000. ANC @ 700.
I hope this update finds you all in good spirits. Billy's clinic visit this morning was uneventful. We received the results from the Cytogenetics, and the results were as we "HOPED". There was no evidence of abnormalities in Billy's chromosome's, and no evidence of tumor cells. Billy did receive a dose of Neupogen this morning as well because his WBC and ANC were still very low. Dr. Petrovic has stopped one of the anti-biotics Billy was taking because she feels as though it may be preventing Billy from producing more WBC's. This is one of the side effects of the drug Clindamycin. So, one more "less" drug Billy has to take *wink*. Lets just hope and pray that there is no underlying infections that have been "masked" by this drug. This was a concern of Dr. Petrovic, but since Billy's SED rate was normal, she doesn't feel that this is a fact.
As we accept the fact that tomorrow marks the 2 year anniversary of Billy's diagnosis of cancer, we still "kringe" at the fact that Billy's first presentation of leg pain was attributed to "growing pains". As you are all aware, we didn't accept that reason for Billy's excruciating pain, and we sought a 2nd opinion. This second opinion, and subsequent x-ray, revealed an 8" tumor in Billy's right femur; and the rest, they say, is history.
Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

{2:30pmWelcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +201 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 3.80, RBC @ 3.81, Hemoglobin @ 12.6, platelets @ 156,000. ANC @ 2,300.
Today's clinic visit was uneventful. Billy isn't feeling very well today though; His energy level is very low, and he is unusually tired. The Neupogen that Billy received last Friday really did it's "job", as you can tell by the WBC and ANC. Billy's RBC, Hemoglobin, and Platelets are also up as well. Dr. Petrovic and her staff were supposed to have a "wean schedule" for us today, but it didn't materialize. Billy is scheduled to start the process of "weaning" from the drug Cyclosporine, and this is critical due to the fact that Billy still has to undergo another very extensive leg re-construction. This surgery can't take place until Billy is off this drug, and he has proven to be free of infection(s).
Billy has his monthly dose of Pantamadine (1 hour infusion) tomorrow morning after schooling.

Please send out your "Special Prayers" for Hannah (clink on link below) as she will be receiving her "gift of Life" on Friday, the 24th. If you would leave your words of encouragement in the posted guestbook, I'm sure it would be very appreciated *wink*.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.
