3:00pm Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +230 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 4.30, RBC @ 3.37, Hemoglobin @ 11.2, platelets @ 172,000. ANC @ 2,800.
Once again, here are what the Normal blood count levels are:

WBC: 4.0 - 10.5
RBC: 4.20 - 5.60
Hemoglobin: 12.5 - 16.1
Platelets: 150.000 - 450.000

Billy had his monthly Pantamadine (2 hour infusion) this afternoon, with no complications other than the typical nausea. Billy's counts are looking pretty good, although his lack of energy reflects in the low RBC.
Billy finally had his 1st "real" shower in over 7 months last night! He also enjoyed his 1st apple as well. He hasn't been able to eat "fresh" fruit or vegetable's since his BMT in March. As you know, Billy is on a "strict" low-microbial diet. The restrictions are slowly be lifted.......one by one!
Please include Precious Olivia in your Prayers as she is laid to rest tomorrow afternoon. Her battle with cancer was lost, but her soul and her Beauty will live in us forever. Sleep well Olivia, we Love you...................

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

2:30pm Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +231 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 4.50, RBC @ 3.59, Hemoglobin @ 11.7, platelets @ 162,000. ANC @ 3,000.
As you can see above, Billy's counts are holding steady *wink*. Billy's visit to the clinic this morning (8:15) was to have his Cyclosporine level checked. Dr. Petrovic has told Billy that it is VERY important that he drinks plenty of fluids. All of the drugs Billy is having to take are having a toxic effect on Billy's kidney's. The levels of the drugs that remain in Billy's system are at dangerous level's, and must be "rinsed" from his body more efficiently. Dr. Petrovic told Billy (us) that if he doesn't drink more water, he will need to be accessed and have IV fluids. I tell Billy till I'm "blue in the face", that it is the most important thing he has to do to help his body recover from all of the trauma it has been through.

I want to mention that the viewing (wake) yesterday of Olivia, was a very peaceful dedication of her Life. Alicia attended the service, as she does for all of our "Angel's of cancer"; I myself, couldn't bare to attend. Alicia said that she looked as Beautiful as always, and at peace. The funeral is happening as I update Billy's Page, so please, if you can find it in your Heart, help lift Olivia up to the Heavens with a word of Prayer, and hold her forever deep in your Soul.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

3:00pm Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +235 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 5.70, RBC @ 3.45, Hemoglobin @ 11.4, platelets @ 198,000. ANC @ 3,900.
As you know, Billy was having problems with his "fluid" intake. He spent a couple extra hours at the clinic this morning (and afternoon) to have his Creatinine level's taken. Since Billy was confronted last week by Dr. Petrovic about his fluid intake, he has been trying his best to consume more liquids than he has been. Although he knew all along how important it was to keep his intake of fluids up, he sometimes let it "slip a bit". He can not let all the drugs he takes accumulate in his body, they MUST be removed. Since most of these drugs are processed through the kidney's, it is the kidney's that suffer, and could be permanently damaged if the fluid intake is anything less than normal. In Billy's case, normal is about 64 ounces of fluid (not soda) per day.
Billy's SED rate was very good when tested today. This is also very important, as you can read if you click on the link.
Billy's counts are also looking very good, and Dr. Petrovic is "very pleased". Platelets at 198,000.......when was the last time they were that high? you ask *wink*. It was before his original diagnosis, over 2 years ago. Although Billy's blood counts "bounce around" a bit, they are on a steady increase and this is what we want to see in a body that is attempting (fighting) to re-build it's immune system, and bone marrow from that provided by his donor. Billy's "new marrow", although still in it's infancy, is doing a spectacular job.
Billy's Cyclosporine dose is now down to 40mg x 2 times per day. Remember when it was at 300mg twice per day? This dose will probably be reduced again next week, after the levels are taken. Dr. Petrovic expects Billy to be "off" this drug by the end of November (fingers crossed !!).

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

5:00pm Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +237 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 5.20, RBC @ 3.44, Hemoglobin @ 11.2, platelets @ 200,000. ANC @ 3,700.
Billy's Creatinine level's today were "good", he didn't need to have IV fluids while at the clinic. Billy's platelets are at 200,000 today!! What a pleasure it is to see them at this level. They have been steadily increasing over the past month or so, and his other counts are also holding "fairly" steady.
Billy's Cyclosporine dose is now down to 35mg x 2 times per day, and will hopefully be reduced further on a weekly basis *wink*. His next "scheduled" clinic visit is next Wednesday. Billy's weight is down to about 88 lbs (40kg), and he is feeling "pretty good" (in his words). His features are returning to "normal" slowly but surely, and he is feeling good about himself. Billy's schooling is going smoothly, and he is keeping pace with his peers.

Please say a Special Prayer for Our 'lil Friend Deseray B., who is now at home in Hospice care. Hold this precious Child in your arms, and give her comfort.

Deseray B. is back in the Hospital, and in critical condition. Pray for her.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

2:30pm Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +238 on Billy's BMT calendar.
Once again (14th time), I come to you with a heavy heart. The world of cancer becomes more difficult to live in, as the "children of cancer" pass away before our eyes. Deseray B. passed away at noon today at All Childrens Hospital. Her very long, painful battle with cancer is now over, her tiny body will hurt no more. Please keep her spirit alive in your hearts. Sleep well Deseray, we love you.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

4:30pm Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +242 on Billy's BMT calendar.
I hope this update finds you all in good spirits. Billy is doing just fine, with nothing "negative" to speak of, since his last clinic visit. It has been very difficult for me to sit here and update Billy's Page of late, and it becomes even more difficult as we lose our Children to these devastating disease's. We (my Family) knew this wouldn't be easy, by any means, and I assure you it's not. Some have asked, "How do you and Alicia stay so calm"? CALM, I say. Believe me, we don't know what "calm" is. There is nothing "calm" about living with cancer, and it is compounded 10 fold, when it involves your Child. Calm? Please excuse my "chuckle"............................

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

1:00pm Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +245 on Billy's BMT calendar. Today's counts are: WBC @ 4.70, RBC @ 3.74, Hemoglobin @ 12.2, platelets @ 192,000. ANC @ 3,100.
Today is Billy's 8 month Birthday! Today is exactly 8 months since Billy was awarded a second chance at life by receiving a bone marrow transplant. Things are still on a "day to day" basis here, but there are 8 months behind us; good counts, and a good attitude that lead us. Billy is feeling very good, and is anxiously awaiting his next surgery to rebuild his leg, sometime in January '05. Billy will be having his regular full body scan, and CT scan's next week. We are also anxious about this, as this is to check to see if the Ewings Sarcoma is still absent from Billy's body.

Alicia is finally on her way to Miami for a long weekend!! She has been trying to get away for a few months now, as you know, and really deserves the "break" *wink*. So, I guess you can say that there'll be alot of "burping and butt scratch'in" going on here in Sunny St. Pete. for the next 4 days!!

Click for photo's A couple photo's taken last evening!!

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

10:30am Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +249 on Billy's BMT calendar.
All is well here in Sunny St. Pete.! Fall is in the air, as the temp's were in the high 70's all weekend, with very cool nights. Billy is feeling very good, as we are about to arrive at day +250. Tomorrow will be the 250th day since Billy received his bone marrow transplant, and what a "trip" it's been *wink*. We are awaiting word from the Clinic as to when Billy will be having his scans done, they were supposed to be early this week.
Although she is missing Billy terribly, Alicia is enjoying her time in Miami with her Brother, his wife, and their baby; who is 9 months old already!! I'll post a photo in a later update.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.
