Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +345 on Billy's BMT calendar. Just 20 more days to the 1 year mark in Billy's BMT.
Once again, here are what the Normal blood counts levels are:

WBC: 4.0 - 10.5
RBC: 4.20 - 5.60
Hemoglobin: 12.5 - 16.1
Platelets: 150.000 - 450.000

We hope this update finds you all well. It's Pretty quite around Bluefish Dr. SE *wink*. Billy and I are enjoying each other's company, not that we don't always! I would like to point out a new link on Billy's page (below). A group of people who are involved with their own battle's, that have web site's with the wonderful folk's at CaringBridge®TM have asked me if I would be so kind as to launch a site that would list (in one place) their site's, and any other's that would be willing to join "collective forces" in hope's to unite people looking for Support, Thought's , and Prayer's as they fight their daily battles. I have agreed to get a web site up and running, in hope's that someone would take it over after it is well established. So, I bring to you a brand new Top Site Listing called "CB Family and Friends". If you have a web site listing with CaringBridge®TM feel free to add your listing to this listing, and invite your CB Family and Friends to do the same. The power of Prayer is enormous, as is the power in numbers. We can help each other cope with our situation's, and ease our pain's.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +349 on Billy's BMT calendar. Just 16 more days to the 1 year mark in Billy's BMT.
We hope this update finds you well. Alicia returned home yesterday evening, from her trip to Miami. Billy is doing very well, and is in class (tele-class) as we speak. Billy has a clinic visit tomorrow morning for blood work, and will be at the Hospital for a few hours on Thursday to have an EKG and ECO, as well as a pulmonary function test. Billy's surgery to remove his medi-port is still on for the 24th, as well as his Bone Marrow Aspiration. PLEASE PRAY, that Billy's marrow is clear of cancer cell's, and that his marrow is 100% Donor.
We also ask that you Pray for Our 'lil Friend Dylan C., who will be undergoing surgery at ACH on Friday, to replace his Femur with a titanium prosthesis (somewhat like Billy has). Dylan also has ewings sarcoma.
To our local Friends, please remember that there is a bone marrow drive on Sat. at the Hillsborough Community College, Dale Mabry Campus at 10:00 - 3:00. This is a FREE test, and registration for the bone marrow registry. The normal fee of $75.00 will be paid by the Casie Snow Fund for the 1st 100 persons adding their names to the bone marrow registry. We hope to see you there.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +351 on Billy's BMT calendar. Just 14 more days to the 1 year mark in Billy's BMT (March 4th is Billy's NEW Birthday!).
yesterday's counts are: WBC @ 5.50, RBC @ 3.69, Hemoglobin @ 12.2, platelets @ 234,000. ANC @ 3,100.
We hope this update finds you well. Billy had an EKG, ECO, PFT, and an x-ray this afternoon. We don't have any results to share with you, but I will update you as soon as we have any word. Billy did get a copy of the x-ray of his leg today as well. It is amazing to look at! It sure is a "Big piece of metal" *wink*.

Alicia signed the consent forms today, giving permission to reveal Billy's identity to his Donor. Billy's demographic's will be released to his Donor on March 4th, and we truly hope to hear something soon thereafter. How would you react after hearing (one year later) that your bone marrow donation saved the Life of a 12 year old Child?

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +357 on Billy's BMT calendar. Just 8 more days to the 1 year mark in Billy's BMT (March 4th is Billy's NEW Birthday!).
today's counts are: WBC @ 6.69, RBC @ 3.62, Hemoglobin @ 12.2, platelets @ 310,000. ANC @ 4,700.
3:30pm We hope this update finds you well. Billy was admitted to "short stay unit" at ACH this morning at 10:30am, and Billy was in surgery at 12:15pm. Billy's medi-port was successfully removed, with no complications, and his Bone Marrow Aspiration was done by Dr. Petrovic without complication. Dr. Petrovic was just "overjoyed", as were we, at the site of Billy's blood counts today. Billy's platelets are over 300,000 for the 1st time since he was diagnosed with ewings sarcoma 30 months ago. We will get the results of the bone marrow aspiration in a few days, and you know how that wait can be *wink*. Billy will also start to get his immunization's in the next couple week's.

Although we've had nothing but great news concerning Billy's cancer(s), we had some very much anticipated new's this morning as we were awaiting admission. Julie, one of the transplant coordinator's approached us with the biggest smile on her face and said that Billy's donor had received word that Billy would like to meet him (us too!!), and he, in turn, agreed! Billy's COMPLETE information will be revealed to his Donor on next Friday, the 4th of March (Billy's New Birthday), and we hope to have some sort of contact with him then. WE CAN'T WAIT!!!!....................Can you?

We took a photo of Billy this past Tuesday, while in his Science class. Click HERE, and have a look!!

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +362 on Billy's BMT calendar. Just 03 more days to the 1 year mark in Billy's BMT.
We hope this update finds you all well. We (Alicia and I) have been very busy here at home for the past few days, sorry for the lack of update *wink*. We received a phone call from Dr. Petrovic last night, and she informed us that Billy's bone marrow is still CLEAR, and 100% Donor! Billy's "old" bone marrow cell's have made no attempt at returning to fight his "new" bone marrow. At almost 1 year post-transplant, this is a fabulous sign that Billy's new immune system has taken hold, and has now "permanently replaced" his old immune system, and cell producing bone marrow.
We are just 3 days away from Billy's 1 year BMT anniversary, and his "new" Birthday! Do you think Billy's donor will call him at the very 1st opportunity he has on Friday? I hope we are not out to dinner when, or if, he calls. Billy wants to go out to Out Back Steak House on Friday for Dinner! It will be so very nice to go out as a Family again, after so long.

7:30pm Click HERE, and have a look at today's Science project!

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +364 on Billy's BMT calendar. Just 01 more days to the 1 year mark in Billy's BMT.
We hope this update finds you all well. Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! 1 Year anniversary of Billy's bone marrow transplant. We are all so very nervous, as we await the possibilities. Will Billy's Donor call? We truly hope so, and we hope that we will be home to receive the call. And if it is possible, we are going to try to meet him in person.
Oh, before I forget, Billy received his report card for this past semester. We are so very Proud to inform you all that Billy once again, made the Honor Roll with Straight A's!
I will try to get you all up to date tomorrow, as to weather or not we heard from Billy's Donor. STAY TUNED!!

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +365 on Billy's BMT calendar. Just 0 more days to the 1 year mark in Billy's BMT. TODAY is the 1 year anniversary of Billy's bone marrow transplant. Boy, what a year *wink*.

We hope this update finds you well. At precisely 9:00am this morning, we received a call from Julie, one of the transplant coordinators at ACH. She then preceded to give us the name, address, and phone number of the person who saved Billy's life. With this information in hand, we are now more nervous than ever. Should we call him? Should we have the courtesy to wait for his call? Alicia, Billy, and I are at our wits end. We've waited so long for this day, and now that it is here, we are still at our wits end *wink*.
Billy's Donor is a 27 year old gentleman named George H. (we do know his last name too!) who lives in Rochester, Minnesota.
We will update Billy's Page as soon as we are able to get up the nerve to contact him. STAY TUNED!

10:00pm Alicia, Billy, and I just had a very pleasant talk with George H., Billy's Donor. Billy insisted that we call this evening, if we didn't hear from him first. What a joy it was to meet the person who saved our Son's Life. I hope we didn't come across as though we were overwhelming *wink*. How do you thank some one for doing what he has done? Is it ever possible? Billy is ALIVE today because of a stranger in Minnesota. I can assure you that, George H. will be no longer a stranger to Billy, Alicia, and I. Our conversation was cordial, yet warm; and we came away from the experience with such a feeling of relief that I can't begin to explain. George was such a soft spoken gentleman, one the three of us agree to be the very same person we thought he'd be. You all know, that we have waited for this moment for one loooooooooonnnnng Year, and we all hugged each other when the moment (phone call) ended. We gave George Billy's web site address, and we hope he will get to know us, and all of you, as he reads the many pages you all have read on this Journey. This Journey isn't over by any means. Billy is still in a very vulnerable situation, and will be for some time to come. So you'll still have to put up with me (us) *wink*, for the long run. We hope this will be yet another milestone, in Billy's Journey to a cure, and now, Billy's life includes the person who saved it. We are so very grateful for you George H., and everyone of Billy's Friends from around the world, who have been by his side from the beginning of this Journey, are grateful for you as well. We Love you George H. from Rochester, Minnesota. Believe it, and please never forget it.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +367 on Billy's BMT calendar.
We hope this update finds you well. Yes, we did manage to have a very relaxing dinner to celebrate Billy's "New Birthday", I'm sorry I forgot to mention it the other day. We were so excited about "FINALLY" being able to talk with Billy's Donor, who we'll now refer to as George H. We won't reveal his last name for privacy reason's. No, we haven't talked to him again, since meeting him on Friday, but we hope he'll be a "regular" in our lives. Billy was happy to see that he left a small note in his guestbook, as well. Billy will be taking the "FCAT" (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Tests) all this week. Remember this time last year, as Billy was under going his bone marrow transplant in ACH, he took this battery of tests, and did exceptionally well. This time he will be at home, and will be tested on this Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; for 3 hours per day.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +369 on Billy's BMT calendar.
We hope this update finds you all well. Billy had a surprise visit late last night from Uncle Jorge, and Alfred. They were on their way back to New Jersey, from Miami, and decided to stop by and spend some quality time with Billy. Thank you guy's, Billy really enjoyed your visit, and was totally surprised by it *wink*. Click HERE, and have a look!

5:30pm Dr. Petrovic called and informed us that Billy's Cytogenetic's results are in from his last bone marrow aspiration, and that everything is NORMAL! Billy's immune system is as close to normal as it can be, at this stage, and she is "VERY PLEASED" with everything she see's.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.
