Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +441 on Billy's BMT calendar. Once again, here are what the Normal blood counts levels are:

WBC: 4.0-10.5
RBC: 4.20-5.60
Hemoglobin: 12.5-16.1
Platelets: 150.000-450.000
ANC: 1.5-6.6

We hope this update finds you ALL well. I hope to have some updated blood counts for you tomorrow, as this is Billy's next visit to the Hospital. This "extended" time between visit's is really getting to me (us)*wink*. Although Billy appears to be doing just fine, good blood counts will ease my (our) mind.

In the mean time, you can click HERE to have a look at Billy, who is hard at work in his latest PT session this afternoon.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +442 on Billy's BMT calendar.
WBC @ 5.10, RBC @ 4.36, Hemoglobin @ 13.6, platelets @ 230,000. ANC @ 2.600
How about those count's! Everyone was so happy to see Billy. Billy's visit to the Hospital today couldn't have been better *wink*. All of Billy's blood counts are "Normal", and Dr. Petrovic will be turning Billy back over to the Hem-Onc department (Dr. Barbosa'a crew!) for future follow-up's, and testing's. This is the same "team" who took Billy into their care when he was first diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in September of 2002. As far as tests, Billy will have a complete bone scan, CT scan, hearing test, and other test's done when we return from our trip to NJ. Dr. Petrovic will also schedule another Bone Marrow Aspiration to be done in a few month's. We also heard from Moffitt Cancer Center regarding Billy's inpatient physical therapy at Shriner's in Tampa. They have "tentatively" scheduled Billy for June 28th, but will try and re-schedule it for after Billy return's from his week away at camp. We really would like for Billy to be able to attend camp, which would give him some, very much needed, "social time" with other kid's. But if worst comes to worst........His PT will over ride anything else *wink*. This is only because Billy's leg will undergo it's 1st lengthening process. If you all remember, Billy's prosthesis (femur and Knee) can be lengthened as Billy grow's, by making an incision just above his knee, and inserting a device that can turn the lengthening mechanism in the prosthesis. This process will repeat, as Billy grows, and eventually the prosthesis will once again be removed, and replaced with a new "permanent Adult" prosthesis after Billy stops growing (between the age's of 20-25). Yes, Billy's leg will have to be opened for a 4th time to replace the prosthesis.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +455 on Billy's BMT calendar.
Thank you all for your patience *wink*. Billy continues to do well, and sends out his Love to all of you. Billy and I made the return trip from NJ yesterday, and I must say, without incident. Well.......almost. I have to say that it took longer to get from Tampa to St. Pete. (20mi), than it took to get through the State of Georgia (86mi). Billy and I left NJ at 5am yesterday morning, and arrived home at 11:00pm, a 1200 mile trip. We were pleased to have very little traffic along the way, except for the typical traffic jam's in D.C., and Baltimore, MD. We were on pace to make the trip in about 16 hours, but took just over 19 due to the construction delay's in Tampa, and the delay's around D.C.
As you know, Alicia remained in NJ, and will fly out to Puerto Rico tomorrow morning (5am) for her High School's class reunion. I am just happy to know that she'll be able to see her 'ole Friends, and have some much needed R and R. She has really looked forward to this trip for such a long time, and wished that Billy and I could have gone with her, but Billy is still unable to fly because of the situation with his leg. We promised that we'll all make an effort to make a trip to PR next year, when Billy is able to fly more comfortably.
Now, for the reason for our NJ trip! As you know, Alicia's 'lil Brother Jorge got Married on Memorial Day. It was such a Beautiful Ceremony, and the reception was attended by almost 200 guest's. Every one had such a wonderful time, and I promise to post some photo's when I can get time to edit them *wink*.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +458 on Billy's BMT calendar.
First of all, let me introduce to you our new Friend Rebekah B. (click photo for larger image)As you all know, Billy was invited to participate in this year's All Children's Hospital Telethon. While at the Hospital, in 2 south west, we had the privilege to meet this 14 year old Young lady, her Parents, and Grand Parents. Rebekah was also diagnosed with ewings sarcoma in her Femur(hip). Billy's surgeon, Dr. Letson also performed the surgery on her 10 days ago(5-25-2005). She had her tumor removed which took part of her femur. She has also received a prosthesis to replace what was lost to cancer. Rebekah continues with her chemo treatments at ACH, and I ask you to hold her in your hearts, as you Pray for these "Children of cancer". I have also included her on Billy's Prayer List. She is from Okeechobee, Florida; about 2 hours south east of St. Pete. Please include this precious Child in your Prayer's.

Billy's interview with Channel 8 during the telethon today went very well, and everyone was quite impressed with Billy, and the demeanor he presents. Billy talked fondly of his Pal Dylan, and tried to explain their relationship. Billy also talked of his experience with cancer, and ACH. We will get a copy of the interview in a week or so, but in the meantime, you can CLICK HERE and see Billy being prepared for the interview *wink*. This years telethon raised over 4 million dollars for ACH, and the new Hospital to be completed by the fall of 2008. THANK YOU ALL!

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +462 on Billy's BMT calendar.
Once again, I come to you with a heavy Heart. After 6 weeks in intensive care due to complications of his ewings sarcoma, Billy's Buddy Dylan Crane has lost his long struggle, and passed away yesterday at All Children's Hospital. I am just in shock, and at a loss for word's. Please CLICK HERE, to read about this Brave Young Man. Please hold him close to your Hearts, and pray for his soul. Sleep Well Dylan, We Love You...........

6:45pm Sorry for those of you who were confused as to who Dylan is. The link below to Dylan is not the Dylan who passed away yesterday. Billy's buddy Dylan, is a local boy who was in Billy's class's at School, and one who confided in Billy often when he learned that he too, had Ewings Sarcoma. They were good Friends, and Billy is just heart broken over his passing.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +463 on Billy's BMT calendar.
We received a call from the St.Petersburg Time's yesterday afternoon. Knowing it was probably about Dylan, I asked Billy, before I answered it, if he wanted to talk to them. He was too "shook up" to speak, so I never answered the call. It turn's out I was right, and in today's paper another article about this precious child appeared, with quote's from all of his Friends. I mention that the "world of cancer" get's tougher and tougher to live in, as we lose another child. Try and look through Billy's eyes. These are HIS FRIENDS (kids he met while in treatment) that are dying all around him, 17 of them now, with the passing of Dylan. He is beginning to question, "Why not me?". You can CLICK HERE to read it if you like.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Welcome back to Billy's Page. Today is Day +470 on Billy's BMT calendar.
Again, your patience is appreciated *wink*. Billy had the 1st of a battery of tests done this morning. He had his hearing test done at ACH, and I am pleased to say that his hearing has not been affected by the radiation, and the chemotherapy he underwent during his BMT process. We were also informed that if he were to have any hearing loss, it would have been obvious by now, and therefore, Billy's hearing will remain intact. Dr. Petrovic is also trying to get Billy's other tests scheduled as soon as possible. Billy needs a bone scan (total body), and a cat scan, as well as eeg, ekg, and MRI. Billy is scheduled to leave for Camp (1 week away) on July 2nd-8th. Upon his return, he will undergo surgery to lengthen his prosthesis, as well as 2 weeks of in-patient physical therapy at Shriner's Children's Hospital in Tampa. School starts on August 3rd here in St. Pete, so as you can see, we'll be pretty busy right up until then *wink*. We hoped to be able to "get away" for a few days, as a Family, but maybe next year huh!

Yes, Alicia was able to attend her Class reunion in Puerto Rico over the past few weeks, and she had a wonderful time catching up on the past 20 some'thing years *wink*. Yes, she is "Glad" to be Home!

Please note, that I added a new Link below, to Our new Friend Kyle's website. Please be sure to visit his website, and sign in on his Guestbook *wink*. Tell him "Billy sent 'ya".

3:45pm Dr. Petrovic has scheduled Billy for a bone scan (total body), and CT Scan (chest) on next Wednesday the 22nd, as well as an X-ray of his leg. Billy evaluation appointment at Shriner's Children's Hospital in Tampa, is scheduled for next Thursday morning, the 23rd.

Please Pray for Billy.........................and ALL children of cancer.

Please click on "next page" to continue your Journey. We'll see 'ya on page #73!
