Above is a photo of the broviac catheter that was placed in Billys chest today, Feb. 23, 2004. An incision was made just below the collar bone near his neck (white patch), the catheter was attached to an artery and was run under his skin and exits about 5 inches lower in his chest (other white patch with traces of blood). The two lines that will be used to administer Billy's chemotherapy drugs, and all the other meds he will need, including the bone marrow are seen taped to his chest, and lying on his shoulder area. Billy's surgery lasted only 15 minutes, but started a bit late, around 12:30pm. Billy was a bit uncomfortable, and had some minor pain. He may be kept over night depending on how he feels.
